Last night on the sci-fi channel they had a special hosted by Kevin ("Clerks," "Chasing Amy") Smith (I still remember when he came out on stage at some MTV Movie Awards with Ben Affleck and they were pretending Kevin was Matt Damon, and Kevin planted a big kiss on Ben right on the mouth. Ben looked genuinely shook up). Anyway, this special was about Star Wars Fan Movies, and they were presenting awards. Some of these little films are pretty amazing, the effort these fans put into them (and how far home computers have come that they can create these sometimes fairly sophisticated flicks).

Do I use too many parenthetical phrases?
